Description:  Topics include but are not limited to: basic vocabulary, grammar, history, fingerspelling, numbers, terminology and Deaf culture. The course will require at least 50% online contact-hours in drills, lessons and research. 

Additional Topics and Perspectives: Parameters of a Sign and Poetry, Sign Language Continuum Perspective SE, PSE, ASL, Ear Anatomy: Basic, Glossing: Worship Signing, Additional People, Deaf Missions Devotions, Exploration of other Countries Sign Language

Class Procedures: Quizzes and Drills to warm up, application of homework online studies in class and the use of time for enacting, presentations, and glossing worship in Sign. That portion of the class should be in Sign Only with voicing only used for additional clarifications and the glossing/grammar portions.

Description:   Over the course of the two semesters we will cover the ASL alphabet, Numbers 1-100, Animals, Foods, Family and People, Sports and Hobbies, Seasons, Time, Days of the week, Weather, Holidays, Clothing, Colors, Religious signs, Nature, Feelings, and Opposites. The signs will be learned through a combination of games, songs, flash cards, review and memory games. I will also discuss various aspects of Deaf Culture each week with the children. I would prefer parents attend with their children for optimal retainment as you will be able to practice with them throughout the week. Younger siblings are fine to bring along if needed!

Description: The goal of this class is to introduce Sign Language in a positive communication environment. Learning the alphabet and understanding that they can communicate with their parent with their hands (to be understood and to understand).

This is a Parent involved Class; designed with familiar rhyming songs to learn Signs incorporating flashcards and games. Online access for a large portion of the class. This class will focus primarily on PSE (Contact Signing). Homework and drills are assigned to make Sign Language interesting and fun to practice.

Spanish Level 1 Class (7th-12th and advanced 6th with permission)

Description:  Spanish 2 reinforces the fundamental skills acquired by the students in Spanish 1. This course develops increased listening, speaking, reading and writing skill as well as deepening cultural awareness. Specific content to be covered is continuation of listening and oral skills acquired in Spanish 1. Reading and writing receive more emphasis, while oral communication remains the primary objective.
